With an eAuthentication account, you can identify yourself to the USDA using your password and User ID. An eAuthentication account gives its users access to numerous USDA applications across the many USDA agencies.

They are two different kinds of account offered by USDA, the first is Level 1 Access and Accounts while the second is known as Level 2 Access. The Level 2 Access is for the general public and USDA customers.

eAuthentication account login steps involve going to eauth.usda.gov. On their homepage, find the login button and click on it for a new page to load, on the page, enter your eAuthentication account User ID and password, then click on login to gain access to your account immediately.

Another way you can use to access the eAuthentication account is through LincPass (PIV). So if you have a USDA LincPass and you want to use it to log in, then you have to insert your USDA LincPass into your card reader.

While inserting the USDA LincPass into your card reader the photo side should face-up and the microchip end inserted first. Make sure you insert the card all the way into the card reader.

After that close your internet browser and restart a new session then go back to the eAuthentication Login screen. You need to tap on the “Log in with your LincPass” button. How to Retrieve your eAuthentication User ID using your USDA LincPass

If you cannot remember the exact User ID to your eAuthentication account, you will not be allowed to log in. So what you need to do is to retrieve the User ID. Firstly if you are a USDA Federal Employees/USDA Contractors and Affiliates then you can use USDA LincPass to retrieve your User ID.

Find the Login with my LincPass button and click on it but if you do not have your LincPass, you have to enter your First and Last Name, and also Email in the eAuthentication User ID recovery section and follow the instructions were given to get back your User ID.

Go to the eAuthentication User ID retrieval page and enter your First Name, Last Name, and Email in its respective field. Click on continue and follow the instructions
given to retrieve your User ID if you are a USDA Customer

How to Reset your eAuthentication Password using your USDA LincPass

If you cannot remember the exact Password to your eAuthentication account, you will not be allowed to log in. So what you need to do is to reset your Password.

How to Reset your eAuthentication Password if you are a USDA Customers

Go to the eAuthentication login page and you will see a link for resetting of password. You can find it just beside the eAuthentication Login user ID retrieval page. Go down the page and click on the continue button {Note this step is for USDA Customers only}.

A new page will appear after you have clicked on continue, enter your User ID {e-mail} to identify yourself and click on Ok. Further instructions on how to reset your password will be sent to your e-mail, so log in to your e-mail inbox or spam box and find out the eAuthentication
