How To Login Your York Income Tax

– On your browser, you can access the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance at http://ny.gov/ or at tax.ny.gov
– On the homepage, navigate to the upper right-hand side of the page and click on the login button
– You will be directed to the NY.gov ID page
– Fill out your NY.gov ID by filling your username and password bellow the “NY.gov ID” icon
– Click on the sign in icon, you can now explore and run any transaction of choice.

How To Sign Up Your York Income Tax

– On your browser, you can access the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance at http://ny.gov/ or at tax.ny.gov
– On the homepage, navigate to the upper right-hand side of the page and click on the “Create account” button next to the “Login” icon
– You will be directed to a new page where you were you will have to select your account type and we have four types of account on this platform namely an Individual account, Fiduciary account, Business account, and Tax Professional account. The choice of these accounts will be based on the following reasons namely:

Individual Account – Select this category if you

1) File a New York State personal income tax return (IT-201 or IT-203)
2) File an IT-214, Real Property Tax Credit, or NYC-210, School Tax Credit
3) Are a resident of New York or a non-resident who has New York source income from services you perform in New York State or have other New York source income
4) Are a tax preparer and were paid to prepare 10 or more tax returns in this calendar year and will be paid to prepare at least one return during the next calendar
year

Fiduciary – Select this category if you

1) File Form IT-205, Fiduciary Income Tax Return
2) Individual, company, or association responsible for managing the assets of another
3) Trustee, responsible for managing the finances of a minor, an executor of wills and estates, or a receiver in bankruptcy.

Business – Select this category if you’re

1) An owner, officer, or employee of a company that has New York State tax filing obligations for sales tax, corporation tax, withholding and employment taxes, or
other business taxes
2) A corporation or S corporation
3) Sole proprietor, a business owned or operated by one person
4) A partnership, which includes a syndicate, group, pool, joint venture, or other unincorporated organization that is carrying on a trade or business
5) A limited liability partnership (LLP) or a limited liability company (LLC), is a partnership that provides professional services and has registered as a limited liability partnership
6) Is an unincorporated organization of one or more members, each having limited liability for the contractual and other liabilities of the company, formed for any
lawful business purpose.

Tax Professional – Select this category if you or your company

1) File New York State tax returns and make payments for your clients
2) Pay New York State tax bills and notices or request installment payment agreements for your clients
3) Access New York State tax information for your clients
4) Speak to New York State Tax Department representatives on behalf of clients and receive confidential taxpayer information relating to their filings, bills, and
notices.
– After selecting your choice of account, you will be directed to a new webpage where you will have to fill out your Security Code displayed in a yellow background on the page which is five numbers.
– Click on the “Continue” icon to complete the signing up process
– Fill out your Social Security Number (SSN) in the field provided
– If you have received a five-digit PIN from the New York State Tax Department, click on the “Yes” or “No” icon.
– Then click on the “Continue” button to continue to complete the registration process.
